Zuckerberg. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is available in +100 countries, with the most notable <\/span><b>exceptions being the European Union, Iran, China, and Russia<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Specifically, <\/span><b>people dislike <\/b><b><i>Twitter <\/i><\/b><b>being paywalled<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, when the number of tweets one can view per day is limited to 600 for free users, tweet replies included. Yet, only <\/span><b><i>Threads <\/i><\/b><b>managed to pose a threat to <\/b><b><i>Twitter\u2019s <\/i><\/b><b>monopoly<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In 2019, there was another attempt to launch <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, only it was meant as a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Snapchat<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> competitor at the time<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the project would be shut down in 2021 due to the majority of its features being implemented on <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2021\/11\/17\/instagram-will-shut-down-its-companion-app-threads-by-year-end\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and low popularity overall<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Now it\u2019s different, as <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, despite still being in development, saw <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/07\/05\/threads-passes-2-million-downloads-in-2-hours\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">30 million users<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> signing up the first day after its launch, which is faster than such big hits as <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/technext24.com\/2023\/07\/15\/threads-crosses-100-million-sign-ups\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ChatGPT or TikTok<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>Many users, however, only joined <\/b><b><i>Threads <\/i><\/b><b>as it is tightly connected to <\/b><b><i>Instagram<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with no ability to delete any of these accounts separately, once signed up to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads Is the New Hype\u2026or Not?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6912 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/yepads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Screenshot-2023-08-10-at-16.04.07.png\" alt=\"instagram threads\" width=\"2362\" height=\"1234\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any new social network, especially one collecting 10 million users in the first 7 hours after launch, is a great way to drive some hype traffic. <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> allows the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Publish text messages<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reply to them<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like them<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Share the posts of other people<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long story short, just like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u6216 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reddit<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>this social network is best-suited for user-generated content<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, or native traffic, which enjoys exceptionally high credibility from the target audience. Right now, agile companies, brands, and affiliates are skimming the cream from the platform. Which is why, it is best to hurry up and start launching campaigns just like in the case of any other platform, focused on user-generated content but accounting for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meta <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">restrictions (more on that later).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pay attention to the fact that <\/span><b>many <\/b><b><i>Instagram <\/i><\/b><b>users simply transferred their data to <\/b><b><i>Threads<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. For now, Threads is not very different from Twitter, so we are confident in saying that without unique updates and new features, some portion of these users will inevitably leave. Take the case with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clubhouse<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that lost its initial appeal when it became clear that the hype factor was all it had. It is even a bigger risk for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> since a user account cannot be deleted without deleting one\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">profile as well. In fact, the daily number of users has already dropped to 13 million, spending on average 4 minutes in the app. To put things in perspective, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">enjoys a stable 200 million of users, each spending 30 minutes on average.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rules of Content Making for Threads<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6910 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/yepads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Screenshot-2023-08-10-at-15.38.33.png\" alt=\"twitter censored\" width=\"2372\" height=\"1570\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Meta <\/i><\/b><b>universe in general does not tolerate NSFW content<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/07\/06\/you-cant-post-ass-threads-is-doomed-meta-instagram-twitter\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">unlike <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In fact, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">allows much more freedom of speech, which is a double-edged sword. On the one hand, celebrities do not tolerate any criticism, discarding it as hatred and offense, so they happily join <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(that filters comments and such) and take their audience with them to the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meta <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">system. On the other hand, the sterile discourse of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meta <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">displeases many, so the future of both platforms is uncertain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads and replies can include <\/span><b>not just short pieces of text, but links, photos, and videos<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The texts can\u2019t exceed the limit of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/about.fb.com\/news\/2023\/07\/introducing-threads-new-app-text-sharing\/#:~:text=Posts%20can%20be%20up,any%20other%20platform%20you%20choose.\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">500 characters<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Regarding the video content, it has to be less than 5-minute long. As for the specific restrictions, everything that is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/07\/06\/you-cant-post-ass-threads-is-doomed-meta-instagram-twitter\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not allowed on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram<\/span><\/i><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.threads.net\/@mosseri\/post\/CuVcNkWtFU_\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">forbidden here too<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promotion on Threads<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6907 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/yepads.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/shutterstock_2328480731-scaled-1.jpg\" alt=\"instagram threads\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1703\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you can try the same approaches and creatives as with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Let\u2019s take a look at <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">campaigns and try to extrapolate the same methods on its newest competitor.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Promotional approaches<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For now, it is unclear how the posts on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are arranged, but it is clearly <\/span><b>algorithm-based and even has a word filter<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. So it\u2019s time for reconnaissance through trial and error until we learn more about the post ranking on the app. The hype around <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and the huge audience willing to explore the new medium makes it easier to collect insights and statistical data thanks to sheer number of users.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A big advantage of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Treads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and other social networks is that you can <\/span><b>get virtually free traffic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It is not fully free, because you have to invest time and effort anyway, but it\u2019s not a straightforward purchase as with paid traffic. That\u2019s right, search optimization and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/yepads.com\/zh\/how-viral-marketing-boosts-campaign-promotion\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">word-of-a-mouth<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are your best friends when it comes to working with social networks<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> included.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bear in mind that <\/span><b><i>Threads <\/i><\/b><b>is a mobile app<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, so it\u2019s unlikely that you will get any desktop traffic. However, <\/span><b>content on <\/b><b><i>Threads <\/i><\/b><b>is indexed by search engines<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and makes it into search results. So it\u2019s a good idea to make SEO-worthy headlines and use relevant keywords in your posts.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creatives<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just remember that <\/span><b>hashtags are not an option<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, at least yet. Which is why you have to be even more creative and subtle than on <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, since any suggestive content is out of line. Consider using <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cloud.google.com\/vision\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Google Vision AI<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to get a basic understanding of how suspicious your creatives may seem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and now <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">have fewer ads in comparison to other media, meaning your <\/span><b>target audience is less likely to go ad-blind<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Experience shows that accounts that are at least 1\u20133 months old with high activity (likes, posts, comments, etc.) show better results than new ones. And if you want to attract advertisers to your <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">account, you need circa 2,000\u20133,000 subscribers to get them interested in placing ads.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Targeting<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">uses a full-on database import from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, it\u2019s safe to say that the audience of any given profile will be somewhat the same on both networks, plus those running from <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in search of a new writer\u2019s haven.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Right now, <\/span><b><i>Threads <\/i><\/b><b>does not have a dedicated ads manager dashboard<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but that does not stop you from placing ads directly on your account. Regarding the audience, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u548c <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instagram<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are visited mostly by the <\/span><b>youth of 20\u201334 y.o.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, so use the same settings for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. As for the GEO, make sure to target the USA and steer clear off the countries excluded, i.e., the EU, China, Iran, and Russia.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Verticals<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Among the <\/span><b>best performing verticals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are financial products, eCommerce, as well as betting and gambling. Make sure to add a pre-lander or a redirect page to gain additional credibility and incentivize the user to go down the funnel. It\u2019s just <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Threads <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">does not have a dedicated ads manager dashboard\u2026yet. So promote your account actively while the audience is on the rise and people are getting used to the platform. Post the ads directly on your profile and make sure to add some pre-landers. Use both headers and main body to optimize your space usage, just don\u2019t be too pushy. Also remember that your creatives must be mobile-friendly, don\u2019t bother with desktop format, as the app is only available on iOS and Android.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And that wraps our take on the new social network!
